Beginner Pilates at SAINT: Reformer First Timer Tips

9 September 2025

Stepping into Reformer by Saint for the first time is exciting – whether you’re brand new to Pilates or have taken Reformer classes elsewhere, this is where your journey truly begins.

Our SAINT Method blends music, movement, and human connection to create a workout that’s as energising as it is empowering.

No matter your experience level, we have a class that meets you where you are:

Foundation: Perfect for first-timers or anyone wanting to master the basics.

Signature 1 & Signature 2: For those ready to build strength, flow, and confidence on the bed.

Our team will help you choose the right class, guide you through the setup, and make sure you feel supported from the moment you arrive. To make your first experience seamless and enjoyable, here are five top tips:

1.  Arrive Early; Give Yourself the Gift of Time.

Walking into a new space can feel a little daunting, so arrive 10–15 minutes early. This gives you time to check in, meet your instructor, get comfortable on the Reformer bed, and settle into the vibe of the studio before class begins. Trust us, the calm before the music starts is part of the magic.

2. Wear Your Grip Socks – Safety First, Always

Grip socks aren’t just a rule; they’re your best friend on the Reformer. They help you stay secure as you move, especially during dynamic transitions, and they keep things hygienic for everyone. If you don’t have a pair yet, no worries – you can purchase some at the front desk before class.

3. Speak to Your Instructor – We’re Here for You

Our instructors love nothing more than helping you feel confident and capable on the Reformer. Whether it’s your first class or your fiftieth, let them know where you’re at and if there’s anything you want to focus on. We’ll guide you through setup, form, and modifications so you can get the most out of your session.

4. Go at Your Own Pace – This is Your Journey

Every class at SAINT is designed to meet you where you are. If you need to slow things down or take a moment to reset, that’s okay. Progress isn’t about perfection – it’s about connection, growth, and celebrating what your body can do.

5. Ask Questions & Soak Up the Experience

There’s no such thing as a silly question. Whether it’s about the bed, the class structure, or even smoothie recommendations for post-class fuel, we’re here to help. The more you learn, the more confident you’ll feel each time you step through our doors. At SAINT Studios, every class is more than a workout – it’s an experience. From the music to the coaching to the sense of community, we want you to leave feeling stronger, lighter, and more connected than when you arrived.
